US Realty Bodies Team Up With NARI

The International Real Property Foundation (IRPF) and the National Association of Realtors (NAR), two reputed US-based realty non-profit organisations, joined hands with the National Association Realtors of India (NARI) on September 18, 2007, to set global benchmarks in customer service, transparency, professionalism, norms for standards of practice and excellence in the Indian realty sector. NARI, head quartered in New Delhi, is well poised to evolve as the "Voice of Real Estate in India" according to Dr P.S.N. Rao, Chairman, NARI. The governing body of NARI comprises professional real estate practitioners like Naresh Malkani, CEO of Indiaproperties.com, who is also the founding member; Dr Rao, Chairman; Farook Mahmood, President; S.K. Mittal, Vice President; Kishen Milaney, Secretary; Sachin Shroff, Treasurer; and Sreedhar Reddy. Speaking on the occasion, Farook Mahmood said, "We will be conducting a series of educational programmes, workshops and seminars on a regular basis to help local city real estate associations empower their members to provide customer service at par with global standards."

Logistics 2007: A Huge Success

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) had organized the Logistics Exhibition 2007 between September 20 and September 22 '07 in Chennai. The three-day event attracted over 10,000 business visitors from manufacturing logistics, material handling, IT, ports, transport corporations and state and central governments. More than 100 exhibitors displayed innovative products, including the pick-to-light middleware of Godrej&Boyce (for warehouse, manufacturing industries, retail sectors) and the yet-to-be-launched Novus and Turbo vehicles by Tata Motors. It also showcased software for vehicle tracking, intelligent access and port terminals. Major exhibitors included Tata Motors, Ashok Leyland, Safexpress, TVS, Logistics, Godrej&Boyce Mfg. Co., Sical Logistics, Maini Material Movements, AFL, Blue Dart, Indo Arya Logistics and the NYK Group. The summit acted as an ideal platform for the companies engaged in logistics, transportation, supply chain, material handling, shipping, consultancy and IT related business to showcase their logistics solutions and strengthen their brand awareness.

India's First Trade Show On Doors & Windows

Zak Doors & Windows Expo was held between September 6 and September 8 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. The expo was a dedicated and focused event for any manufacturer/supplier of doors, windows, hardware and accessories to showcase their products as well as the technology to produce them. The tradeshow was the right time and the right place to present the technology and become the part of the booking environment and carve out a significant market share. The highlights of the expo were technology seminars, industry workshops, country pavilions, tech podiums and a buyer-seller meet. More than 15,000 business visitors from India and neighbouring countries came to the expo.

Properties Ahead A Good Home Idea

Hindustan Times, in association with NARDECO, hosted Properties Ahead, Delhi's premier real estate expo between September 22 and September 23 at Pragati Maidan. It has become a regular event for those seeking to develop their business in the real estate industry, namely, builders, developers, corporate end-users, consultants and financial institutions. The expo brought together the most influential decision-makers in the market, offering them access to the largest available showcase of development projects. This unique exhibition was aimed at offering a complete solution for any type of property, finance, interior or exterior requirement on the same platform. Buying a property, getting the finance, finding good architects, interior designers, a desirable modular kitchen, fittings and furniture, home improvement products and services, consultancy on Vaastu and Feng Shui were all available under one roof. Properties Ahead 2007 attracted over 15,000 visitors.

Global Real Estate And China Strategy 2007

The Grand Hyatt in Shanghai hosted the 3rd annual Global Real Estate and China Strategy 2007 on September 20 and September 21 to provide an insight into the Chinese real estate market. The event started with the welcome remarks from, William Ross, MD, Head of ABS & Structured Bonds, Asia Pacific, HSBC. There were discussions on Real Estate Securitisation In China; Private Equity Investors; Maximizing Investment Returns In Emerging Markets; and the Risks, Challenges And Pitfalls In Investing In China. The second day of the meet had Dr Zhao Hui, Deputy Director, Ministry of Construction, China, talk about the promising future of real estate development in China and the most exciting regions in China. Other issues, which gained focus at the meet, were hotel investments, implementation and updates on various laws and taxes, REIT regulation and trends and process of meeting.

Chennai Hosts Furniture Fair

The Chennai Trade Centre at Nandambakkam was the venue for the Furniture Fair 2007 held between September 29 and October 2. The event was completely focused on the furniture industry and attracted large crowds of furniture lovers from all over the city to view the variety of products on display. Furniture from China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Laos were sold in easy-to-assemble kits and visitors showed enthusiastic interest in them. Besides an exhaustive range of imported furniture, manufacturers of authentic Indian furniture in places like Udaipur, Jaipur and Indore were also present at the fair. They offered exclusive deals and special discounts for on-the-spot sales.
