Delhi Real estate Development Council Convention

To reconfirm the commitment of professionalising the real estate business, National Real Estate Development Council (NAREDCO) has taken an initiative to form new state REDCOs starting with the formation of Delhi Real Estate Development Council (Delhi REDCO). Sheila Dixit, the Chief Minister of Delhi would inaugurate the function and convention of Delhi REDCO on August 27 at Hotel Le Meridian, New Delhi. Delhi REDCO, besides assisting in regulated development of Delhi shall also act as deterrent for speculative and unethical practices by both public and private agencies. Ms. Dixit shall be the Chief Patron of the Council.

Delhi REDCO will have participation from various departments of the Delhi Government including, Delhi Development Authority (DDA), Delhi Municipal corporation (MCD), New Delhi Municipal corporation (NDMC), Delhi Jal Board (DJB), Natioan Capital region (NCR) Planning Board, in addition to real estate developers and other stakeholders of the industry.

According to the constitution of the State REDCO and convention prevalent in other states, the State Council enjoys the Chief Patronage of the Chief Minister and patronage of the Minister for Urban Development. In addition, Chief Patron nominates requisite members from state government, state development authorities and municipal bodies including PSUs in the governing council of State REDCO.

Workshop on Construction Finance and Quality Management

National Institute of Construction Management and Research (NICMAR) in collaboration with Rajasthan Real Estate Development Council (RAJREDCO) and Government of Rajasthan would be holding a four-day workshop on ‘Construction Finance and Quality Management’ from August 20-23, 2004 at Jaipur, Rajasthan. The objective of the workshop is to update the participants to the latest concept of quality and finance related to construction and to suggest remedies for their problems. In all, there will be 60 participants from public and private sector belonging to Municipal Corporation, Jal Board, Housing Board, State Road Corporation, Urban Development Department, Financial Corporations, besides local builders, contractors, banks etc. The workshop will cover topics like quality management in urban development, tax planning, total quality management and ISO 9000 in construction project, project evaluation and appraisal, finance management in housing project, safety management practice in infrastructure project, cases on DMRC, risk management in construction project.

The two officials of NICMAR and RAJREDCO namely Pramod Mishra director incharge of NICMAR Delhi and Ashok Patni vice chairman RAJREDCO will coordinate the programme.

Showcasing Prowess of India’s Property Market

New Delhi is hosting India’s largest property convention and exhibition that will feature top industry players who will not only showcase the strength of Indian property market but also debate on important issues that impact the real estate industry. Organized by Confederation of Real Estate Developers Associations of India (CREDAI) and supported by the Union Ministry of Urban Employment and Poverty Alleviation, the 3-day event will comprise of the IVth CREDAI National Convention, NATCON 2004 and PROPERTY 2004, national exhibition of developers and housing finance institutions. While NATCON 2004 is scheduled to be held at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi on September 10 and 11, 2004, PROPERTY 2004 will take place in the air-conditioned pavilions of the city’s Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium from September 10 to 12. At the NATCON 2004, over 600 delegates from across the country will take part and 200 of them are going to represent Delhi NCR alone. This is the first time that a stage has been set for the participation of the real estate industry at the all-India level. The key participants will include members of CREDAI, real estate developers, officials of urban development authorities, state government representatives, Central government officials, manufacturers of building materials, architects and experts in allied fields. The theme for NATCON 2004 is "Build, Facilitate, Promote: The Role of Real Estate in the Development of India." The convention has already attracted big sponsors like National Housing Bank, HUDCO, ICICI Bank, Life Insurance Corporation and HDFC. The NATCON 2004 programme will primarily comprise keynote addresses by senior ministers, administrators, bankers as well as experts in the field of real estate development, followed by special interest discussions, a question and answer session and brainstorming on strategies for the future of real estate in India. The major highlight of NATCON 2004 will be a session on ‘Vision 2020: The Role of Real Estate in Development of India.’ Moderated by Deepak Parikh, Chairman HDFC, the session will have high profile participants like Chanda Kochar, ED, ICICI; Niranjan Hiranandani, MD, Hiranandani Constructions Private Limited; K P Singh, chairman, DLF Universal Limited; V Sridar, CMD, National Housing Bank; Anand Mahindra, MD, Mahindra & Mahindra and Hafeez Contractor, celebrity architect. The session of ‘Low Income Mass Housing’ will have top speakers like Anil Baijal, secretary, Union Urban Development Ministry; Harshvardhan Neotia, MD, Ambuja Cement; Renu Karnad, Director HDFC and Kapil Wadhwan, MD, DHFL.

Real Estate Showcase!

The recent Property and Home loan Exhibition for the national Capital Region organised by Events International provided an opportunity to the developers to showcase their new residential and commercial offerings, besides housing finance companies wooing property buyers with lucrative offers.

The event witnessed participation of major players in the field of real estate development and housing finance. These included State Bank of India, Can Fin Homes Ltd., PNB Housing Finance Ltd., LIC Housing Finance Ltd., ABN AMRO Bank, IDBI Bank Ltd., Citibank, UTI Bank, Sri Bala Ji & Co., Omaxe Construction Ltd. and Ansal Properties & Industries Ltd. amongst others.
