The UP government has decided to build five more hi-tech townships in the state, two of them in the National Capital Region (NCR) and three in non-NCR cities.
Tenders for selecting the private agency, which will develop the townships, would be floated soon, according to a senior official. The state government has already released licences for development of 10 hi-tech townships in seven cities and work on some had already started, .
The NCR cities, where the new townships would be constructed, include Khurja and Bulandshahr, while the non-NCR ones are Lucknow, Allahabad and Saharanpur.
The townships would have self-reliant units like infrastructure, education, health, information technology and banking.
