Kolkata-based Bengal Shristi Infrastructure Development plans to invest Rs 2,000 crore in developing
more than 90 lakh sq ft land outside Kolkata, in Asansol, Haldia, Ranigunj and Krishnanagar. The four
properties together would offer 7,500 residential units.
The largest project would come up in Asansol, where the group is developing a 60 lakh sq ft
integrated township project with 5,000 units. Haldia will get a new landmark in an international
stadium-cum-sports complex that the company is developing within 20 lakh sq ft. space.
Spread over 6 lakh sq ft space, Krishnanagar will have 350 units and a 3-star hotel, to tap transit
tourists to North Bengal and at Ranigunj a commercial Project is planned.
In Asansol, the units would be priced in the range of Rs 1,100 per sq ft to Rs 1,500 per sq ft; in Haldia,
it would be Rs 1,200 per sq ft-Rs 1,400 per sq ft and in Krishnanagar, the units would be offered at
Rs 1,250 per sq ft-Rs 1,400 per sq ft. “The projects are priced at 20 per cent premium over local
development but it isn’t much if you consider additional amenities and quality of product,” claims a
confident Hemant Kanoria, director, Bengal Shristi.
