Akshaya Homes, the Chennai-based residential and commercial property developer, has made a first-of-its kind foray into the digital home segment by launching new project Aikya in Chennai.
Aikya will provide access to homes in the most convenient way. There will be a home server box that makes the home digital (smart). Wi-fi connectivity, digital answering machines, smart card-based access to home, main gate security and visitor tracking system, stand-alone video surveillance, visitors’ log when the home is locked, and tracking of events are just some of the features. All this is controlled by an IP-based technology that is able to integrate voice, video and data.
Home automation can be made SMS-enabled that could even control A/V, lighting, geysers and so on. A touch terminal will activate these control mechanisms. “These homes will have optimal utilisation of light and energy, thereby making these homes not only intelligent but also energy efficient. Another feature is that the resident can actually go to a portal and watch what is going on at his/her home even while he/she is sitting in office. When at home, they will just need to use a ‘console box’ for most of their activities,” said Chitty Babu, MD, Akshaya Homes.
Each residential unit will be a 3,050-sq-ft 4BHK duplex with an additional 500–600 sq ft private garden, besides an exclusive water body for each.
